Laxman Jhula Area
It is one of the most famous landmarks at Rishikesh. This is a hanging bridge and was built in the year 1929. According to the beliefs, Rama’s brother Laxman crossed this river using a jute rope.  To relish the panoramic views of the environs and the cool breeze, this bridge is an ideal spot.
Tera Manzil Temple:  It a multistory temple complex that has idols of Hindu Gods, and Goddesses. This Temple is very much admired by the domestic pilgrims. From the top of the floor of the temple you can get an excellent view of the surroundings. Sunset view from this place in winters is a superb option.
Laxman Temple: It is one of the ancient temples situated on the right bank of the Ganges. A twig bridge was made by Lord Rama with  Laxman here on the way to their journey to high Himalayas.

Bharat Mandir
Bharat mandir is situated in the heart of the old town on the Banks of the Ganges. It is an engrossing temple built by Adiguru Shankaracharya near in the 12th century. It is one of the important places to visit. A detailed account of this oldest temple of Rishikesh is available in ancient records Kearkhand. A very beautiful idol of lord Vishnu carved out of a single Saligram is situated in the inner sanctum of this temple.

Also in the inner canopy above the idol of Lord Vishnu you will find the idol of Shree Yantra that was installed by Adiguru Shankaracharya. Tamur Lane had destroyed the original temple in around 1398 AD. Various old statues, coins, pots and other artifacts of historical importance have been found during recent excavations within the premises.

Rishikund:
Rishikund is one of the ancient places located adjacent to Triveni Ghat. It one of the most momentous tourist attraction in Rishikesh. Prehistoric records indicate that this pond was saturated by Goddess  Yamuna and it mirrors the temple of Ragunath, which is devoted to lord Rama and his wife.

Triveni Ghat:
It is a blessed spot in the town where most of the pilgrims throng in for a holy dip.  A very large number of pilgrims swarm to this place every evening to the attend the Ganga Arti that occurs at this Ghat.

Geeta Bhawan:
This is one of the oldest temples in the entire area. The famous epic Mahabharata and Ramayana are described here on its walls. It is a must visit among the tourist attractions in Rishikesh.

Parmarth Niketan:
One of the most prominent temple complex and ashram in the whole area. It is known for its extensive work on Hinduism. It is a school run on conventional Indian Patterns. The ashram organizes excellent Ganga Arti and Hawan on the Parmarth Ghat every evening. Parmarth niketan are actively involved in cleaning up the banks of the sacred ganges river. Parmarth niketan are opening large scale gaushalas in the himalayan region of uttranchal in conjunction with a special program that will get mother cow off of the roads and give her a safe haven in which to live.

The ashrams spread all over the town are certainly the leading tourist attractions in Rishikesh. On your tour to Rishikesh, you will come across lots of them.
