Where to Eat In Rishikesh
Ananda:
Located in Laxman Jhula area on the left banks of Ganga, is this small restaurant in Hotel Jaipur Inn. Their spread includes Italian, Indian and continental cuisines.
Chotiwala:
One of the oldest landmarks in Rishikesh is Chotiwala restaurant, in the Swarga Ashram area. Their masala chai is not worth a miss. They serve tasty Indian fare. And it is clean and hygienic.
Devraj Coffee Corner and German Bakery:
Menu consists of vegetarian Indian and international food and baked goods. English menu. Made-to-order foods take time. Moderate to expensive prices by local standard but affordable for foreigners. Located on the main part of town just by the bridge with a nice view of river. Frequented by travelers. Accept credit cards. Open daily morning until late.
Divya Hotel Restaurant:
Casual dining on the first floor of the hotel; small kitchen. Food is made to order and can be customize upon request. Vegans can ask for dishes without the cheese/paneer (usually a little cheaper). Ask to leave out MSG (say "no Aginomoto"). Friendly service. Moderate-expensive prices by local standard but affordable for foreigners. Cash only.
Ganapati Plaza:
Has spaghetti, macaroni, choup-suey, brown rice, veg lasagne, upama, porridge, Indian thalis. Open daily 7.30am-10pm.
Elachi Restaurant:
Situated on the left bank of the river in the Laxman Jhula area, this is place ideal for a quiet meal.
Himalayan Herbs:
Himalayan Herbs restaurant offers one of best views of the Ganga. This one is also located in the Tapovan area and serve ayurvedic based food.
Little Italy:
Cross Ram Jhula and it is on the way to Bhutnath temple and Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ashram
Madras Cafe:
One of the oldest restaurants in town, it is ideal for budget travelers. This is a good choice for the budget tourists. Located near the Ram Jhula Taxi Stand and Shivanand Ashram, they offer excellent South Indian fare.
The Flora Club:
This restaurant located in the Muni ki Reti area can host upwards of a 100 people at one time. It is said to be the largest in town.
The Jasmine Tea:
An ayurveda based restaurant, they provide food in accordance to one's body type. Located in the Tapovan area, one can spot it on the road to Badrinath.
